Soda Blasting
Sodium biocarbonate blasting (soda blasting) presents a non-hazardous way to effectively clean, degrease and remove paint from virtually all surfaces.
Soda blasting removes paint, coatings and tough residue on compressors without surface damage. The media is a safer alternative to chemical solvents used in industrual and commercial cleansing.
Advantages:
1. Consists of a "soft" abrasive (does not harm glass, ceramic, metal, etc.) making it easier to use as a parts cleaner because it breaks down on contact.
2. Water soluble/Food grade: the by-product is simple salt water.
3. Solid paint chips are relcaimed by the filters.
Applications:
1. Marine: boat bottom paint removal, stainless steel cleaning, and more. Read a Practical Sailor article about Soda Blasting to remove bottom paint.
2. Historical Buildings: removes paint, oil, sand and dirt.
3. Industrial: cleans engine parts for aviation, auto and marine uses.
